I spent seven years as a foster parent for Golden Retrievers—which was just as chaotic and joyful as it sounds—and have raised three Goldens of my own. They’re basically my unofficial board of directors. The Global Garden My other passion is playing in the dirt. I have a serious thing for Desert Roses, and I don’t just settle for the local variety—I source my seeds from all the way across the globe in Thailand. There’s nothing quite like the patience of watching a seed from the other side of the world bloom in the Florida sun.
